Hong Kong, April 21, 2004 �The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced today that the theme of its World Travel Congress in Hong Kong, Sept. 28-Oct. 3, will be �Women in Travel: Influencing, Leading, Empowering.� ASTA also announced other exciting developments occurring at this year�s annual conference.

�There are so many wonderful, influential women in the travel industry and I am thrilled that ASTA is recognizing them through this important Congress theme,� said ASTA 2004 World Congress Chair-Hong Kong Bev Zukow, CTC. �Additionally, ASTA has been working hard to enhance Congress with some great new features this year.�

In keeping with the theme of this year�s Congress, Women in Travel: Influencing, Leading, Empowering, each general session will feature a woman leader from a different segment of the travel industry.

Also new this year, the opening general session will be combined with the host night dinner. The event will be taking place on Sept. 28. The Hong Kong Tourism Board also is hosting a second all-delegate function. The second event will be held on Sept. 29 and will feature the Sunset Harbor Cruise.

The Congress also will include business appointments that are being scheduled during the trade show on Oct. 1. These meetings, during which time agents will meet with pre-selected vendors and vendors will meet with pre-selected attendees, will give both buyers and sellers the chance to meet one-on-one and make long-lasting business connections.

ASTA also will be featuring seminar tracks grouped according to their subject matter, rather than by their target audience. This year�s tracks are: Luxury, National Tourism Organizations (NTO), Family, Exhibitor, Business/Technology and Honeymoon.

Bahamas cruise vacations are popular with first-time cruisers, families traveling during school holidays or for anyone who wants to simply relax. A three or a four night cruise to the Bahamas is the perfect choice for a quick, enjoyable and affordable vacation. For cruisers from the northeast, some cruise liners also offer a seven night Bahamas cruise from New York.

The Bahamas are bordered by picturesque white sand beaches lined with palm trees. The crystal clear water of the Bahamas is perfect for water sports like snorkeling, diving and windsailing. The Bahamas is an excellent tourist destination all year-round, but only a handful of cruise liners offer short cruises.

Cruise Line Private Islands are a popular stop for cruisers. These private islands have been impeccably groomed and provide everything one needs for a perfect day at the beach. There are beach chairs, umbrellas and hammocks, bars, restrooms and showers, volleyball nets, water sports equipment and shops. Most cruise lines provide kids activities, and some islands even have massage therapy tents for adults.

Longer cruises to the Bahamas from New York may also include stops at Port Canaveral, Florida so that cruise passengers can visit the Orlando Theme Parks and Kennedy Space Center; as well as a stop in Miami to enjoy the South Beach scene. Most cruise liners which cruise the Bahamas regularly include a day at their Private Islands.

Nassau is the colonial seat of government and also the modern capital of the Bahamas. It is a busy city with a large cruise ship port. Popular resort areas and casinos can be accessed from Nassau. Freeport is also primarily a resort area, but with a smaller downtown and is therefore less crowded.

These cruise vacations are very exotic and are usually a once in a lifetime vacation for most people. These are often very expensive vacations and not many can afford them.
